What the pre-check actually promises
It reports what is visible in your photo — the card's identity, anything that would sink the grade, a centering impression and a grade range — and it says so out loud when it can't tell. It does not output a single-number "AI grade", because a flat phone photo physically cannot show surface scratches or print lines, and a confident wrong number is worse than an honest range.
Stated plainly rather than buried: a credit is only spent when a check succeeds — if the model can't read the image, errors out or declines, the credit goes straight back to your balance. Photos still need to meet the shooting guide (square-on, sharp, no sleeve or toploader, whole card in frame); no tool can read a blurry photo. And nothing here substitutes for a professional grade — the point of the pre-check is deciding whether to pay for one.
